Many of us work too hard in our relationships. We compensate for the other person’s unavailability by waiting, hoping, and doing all the work.
Then, we linger. And, while lingering; we learn to tolerate unhealthy behaviors.
We condition ourselves, our minds, to make excuses. And we continue to deny, and deny ~ the unspoken truth.
Maybe, we don’t want to feel the pain that comes from ending a relationship. Maybe, we don’t want to start over. Maybe, we just don’t want to be alone.
But, my dear sweet girl; there comes a time when you have to do the right thing. A time when you have to honor yourself.
To love yourself enough that you stop running from fear, and embrace it. Even if it means breaking your own heart.
You see, my dear sweet girl; you will never find the right person, if you never let go of the wrong one.
So take my hand. Together, we will walk through the darkness of pain, into the light of happiness.
Love doesn’t hurt, loving the wrong person does.
